Does your product ensure that the door frame won't collapse?

CrossGrips uses the molding on both sides of the door to be extremely strong and secure. All other pull-up bars only use the molding on one side of the door. While it is impossible to guarantee anything since all doors are different, the standard door is more than sufficient and will have no issues.

What range of wall thickness can this adjust to?

It is for a wall thickness range of 4.5" to 7.5" (including the molding/trim).
