Known as the modern hookah, the 1001 is the extreme opposite of all the traditional hookahs in the market. From the materials used to the design language and size — which is smaller than average hookahs — the 1001 transcends the traditional. It is radical, simple and elegant.

Utilizing his experience in the field of motor sports, where each detail has its own justification, designer Christian Zanzotti kept extra fuss at a minimum. His approach to design was to keep the products very simple, but with a certain radicalness where each piece should maintain its uniqueness and stand out from the crowd. The focus on detail and quality has entailed that each piece is produced with dreamlike precision, and comes together with high end and durable materials to create a perfect product. From its anodized aluminum, glass, brass, and 3D printed plastic base to its unusually small size that makes it portable, it's an undeniable and flawlessly crafted upgrade on an age-old tradition.

About the Designer

Christian Zanzotti

After taking courses in architecture and construction engineering at the technical university of Innsbruck, he studied industrial design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.
After several internships and jobs at known offices like Hannes Wettstein in Zurich and IDEO, he got in to the motorsport field working on concept vehicles and light weight developments.
He opened his own studio in Munich in 2013 where he works in the areas of product, furniture and concept vehicles. In February 2014 Christian Zanzotti was awarded with the German Design Award Gold Newcomer 2014.
