The recipe itself was crafted by spirits entrepreneur Adam von Gootkin alongside George Herbert, 8th Earl, and the Countess of Carnarvon, the owners and stewards of Highclere Castle. The botanicals used in production are even harvested from Highclere Castle's ancient estate. This makes Highclere Castle Gin a uniquely rare product, merging British pedigree and style with American innovation.

Highclere Castle Gin's commitment to quality, heritage, and genuine authenticity hasn't gone unnoticed. That's why they've quickly garnered 21 prestigious international gold awards to date, becoming a leader in the gin market. The spirit itself possess a rare level of smoothness, making it effortlessly enjoyable on the rocks, mixed with tonic and a lime, or in a classic martini cocktail. You can even enjoy it in "Highclere Style." Recovered from the menus and letters from the early 1900s, this method involved a cocktail made with gin, tonic, a fresh orange squeeze and peel, then finished with a rosemary sprig from Highclere Castle's garden.

During the early 1900s, the head butler at Highclere Castle typically played the role of master mixologist. They were tasked with remembering how Lord and Lady Carnarvon enjoyed their cocktails. Below are some recipes from the castle's archives, bringing a little Highclere into your home.

His Lordship
— 1.5 oz Highclere Gin
— 0.5 oz Elderflower Cordial
— 1 oz Lemon Juice

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake over ice. Pour and double strain into a rocks glass.

Her Ladyship
— 1.5 oz Highclere Gin
— 0.5 oz Lavender Syrup
— 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
— Half an Egg White

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake over ice. Pour and double strain into a rocks glass.
