This Ashanti Royal Stool is a rare and authentic piece of collectable African art. Drawing on a flexible canon of basic types, the Ashanti of Ghana created a wide variety of stools to which they assigned different meanings. Many of the stools have sayings associated with them. Additionally, each Ashanti king put his name to a new design. This particular stool is a Esono Dwa, a stool only used by the Asantehene.
