This elaborately handcrafted backgammon set features a gorgeous lupo burl exterior that opens to an natural lupo burl veneer and inlaid points of wenge and oak veneer.

This backgammon is marquetry (also spelled as marqueterie) which is the art of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns and designs. Skillful workers use this method in order to create the inside design of the backgammon. Every piece of lupo burl veneer is unique, so no two ever look exactly the same.

Chip racks on both sides of the board conveniently hold chips that are not in play. The chips are made from Greek olive wood in a natural brown color.
