Heaven’s Door is an award-winning collection of handcrafted American whiskeys developed in partnership with Bob Dylan. Their ever-evolving catalog of small-batch whiskeys features uncommon blends, special barrel finishes, and rare stocks. The perfect blend of art and craftsmanship, each bottle showcases Dylan’s distinctive welded iron gates that he created in his metalworking studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks.

Heaven’s Door Straight Rye Whiskey is aged for seven years in new, charred American oak barrels. Breaking with tradition, the whiskey is then finished in toasted oak cigar barrels, harvested and air-dried in the low-lying mountain region of Vosges, France for an additional six months.

Heaven’s Door chose French oak cigar barrels for their natural sweetness. The barrels impart mellowing characteristics to the Rye to balance out the whiskey’s inherent spice. The name ‘Cigar Barrel’ refers to the barrel's elongated shape which increases the liquid to barrel surface area ratio and provides an accelerated rate of flavor extraction from the wood.

Their unique vintage of French Oak is open air seasoned for at least three years, benefiting from the climate changes seen in eastern France. Unlike traditional Bourbon barrels, Heaven’s Door Cigar Barrels are not charred, leaving behind the naturally occurring flavors of hand toasted oak. This unique and proprietary finishing results in a smoother, more approachable rye with a long-lasting finish of orange peel, coriander, and spice.
