About the Designer

Heather Palmer was born in the great Central Valley of California, and she has remained in California since, moving around the state a fair amount as an adult. Palmer traces her roots in making things back to childhood where her family always had multiple creative projects going. Never really thinking of herself as an "artist," Heather organically moved toward a career as a designer/maker/artist. The progression was slow but natural, and once she fully embraced making things, her craft became both a career and a way of life.

Primarily inspired by the natural world, Heather tries to keep an earth-inspired aesthetic that is nonetheless modern and clean. These guiding principles can be seen in her most iconic design, the Nest Bowl. Lately, she has been increasingly compelled by texture, a quality that can be noticed in the Pebble Bowl. Heather has maintained an independent design studio in Oakland since 2008.
