Founded in 1962, Havaianas is the originator of the classic rubber flip flop. Their original design was based on the traditional Japanese sandal known as the Zori, and quickly became a fundamental part of Brazilians’ lives. By 1980, the brand was selling millions of pairs of Havaianas a year, and were even listed by the Brazilian government in a list of fundamental products to control inflation. Today, Havaianas are sold in more than 60 countries and recognized around the globe for their iconic shape, retro-inspired aesthetic, and undeniable comfort.
