Damien Hirst (1965- ) is an internationally-renowned British artist, best known for his collaboration with the group Young British Artists, who overtook the UK art scene in the '90s. One of the wealthiest artists still living, he is recognized for his incredible art collection and entrepreneurship as much as for his own work. His pieces focus dominantly on the theme of death, often featuring skulls, or installations involving dissected insects, and animals preserved in formaldehyde.
