Artist and craftsman Cassel Goorin began creating custom-made hats that he sold off of his horse cart in Pittsburgh in 1895. Adding the right feather, sewing the right lining, and often changing the block or pattern entirely, he set out to make each hat as individual as the customer purchasing it. Eventually his sons took over the company, creating the Goorin Brothers stores. Today Goorin Brothers make hats up to the standards of a modern Cassel Goorin, with the same approach to individualization and quality.
