Furthermore Wines' mission is to study how Pinot Noir expresses itself regionally throughout California, particularly in areas influenced by coastal climates over a long period of time, and apply it to their own wine. It started in 2006 with two barrels of wine made with fruit that came from the Bohemian Vineyard in Freestone, just a few miles from the estate vineyard on Willow Creek Road that they eventually purchased in 2011.

They now produce about 2,000 cases annually from as far south as Santa Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County, all the way up to Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino county, and many places in between. In 2015, they also purchased Graton Ridge Cellars and established another estate vineyard, Graton Ridge Vineyard, establishing a tasting room and moving all operations to a new home just north of Sebastopol.

People often ask where the name Furthermore came from. They like to say that the name alludes to the never-ending dialog that they engage in as we explore the ethereal beauty and diversity of Pinot Noir, and how its expression in the glass is easily affected by the place where it is grown and the special circumstances of each vintage.

This 2014 Furthermore Eden Vineyard Pinot Noir is from a western Sebastopol-based vineyard that is a testament to the elegance and beauty of the Mount Eden clone. It leads with unforgettable aromatics of rose petals and violet, with bright acidity finished by fresh raspberries mingling with dark cherries.

It was awarded 93 Points by Wine Enthusiast, who said: "An expansively juicy and soft velvety wine, this delivers coastal influence in droves, balancing earthy cardamom, cola and forest floor with tastes of tea leaf and bright cherry. Light-bodied and silky, it rewards in flavor, texture and complexity."
