This genuine Fossilized Fish is an incredible gift for children and science enthusiasts. It swam in thriving ancient Eocene lakes in Wyoming, 50 million years ago and comes from the famous Green River Formation, known to produce some of the world's most spectacular fossils - large gars, turtles, birds and lizards and even insects.

Diplomystus dentatus is a prehistoric fish species related to modern day herrings. Its distinctive upturned mouth was used to nab small surface fish. Interestingly, this predator has even been found with small fish preserved in its mouth!
