Product Description

Alan Turing was born in London in June of 1912. He only lived until the age of 41 but in his short life contributed greatly to the technological advancements that are so commonly taken for granted today. During the Second World War, Turing worked at Bletchley Park, the code breaking center for British Intelligence. He was assigned to work with a team of truly brilliant men tasked with breaking German codes that were creating using the virtually unbreakable Enigma machine.

Turing spent months working on the sequences, getting increasingly frustrated due to lack of resources. After appealing to Winston Churchill, the team was given everything they needed to expedite the code breaking process. Finally, thanks to Turing's brilliance and everyone's hard work, they broke the Enigma code and were able to help turn the tide of the war.

The gorgeous Turing Damascus Steel Folding Knife was named after Alan Turing. The subtle beauty of the wenge wood and sleek design felt like the kind of knife a British Intelligence officer would carry. At just over 3 inches, this handmade Damascus steel drop point blade is a great size for everyday carry. Large enough to have a good cutting surface, while small enough that it will easily fit in your pocket. The wenge wood has a unique ebony color that looks black or brown depending on the light. This knife comes with two brass thumb openers and has an ambidextrous design so it can be used by either a right-handed or left-handed person. The stainless steel liner has the liner-lock built in so it does not add any unnecessary thickness to the knife. This incredibly unique handmade Damascus steel folder will be a prized knife in your collection and great for an everyday knife.

Each knife in this collection is individually handmade with the same dedication to detail, and with all-natural materials. This means that each knife will vary slightly in its exact color, shape, and pattern, so you can rest assured that absolutely no two knives - even of the same model - will ever look identical or mass-produced.
