Product Description
Jim Baker was a legend among mountain men. Friends with the like of Kit Carson and Jim Bridger, Baker was said to be brave and loyal to a fault. Baker also led a life of adventure. From battling with Native American Indians, to scouting for a railroad survey party in Salt Lake, to rescuing the daughter of a Shoshone chief, Jim Bakerās stories and adventures go on and on. And this blade is his namesake.
Donāt let its compact size fool you. Weighing in at 8 ounces, and featuring a full tang with just over a 4ā blade, this knife has the perfect weight for a skinner and has been built for utility and function. The flat belly and skinner tip make this knife very easy to control and the large handle gives you plenty of leverage. A brass bolster with finger guard gives you plenty of control over the knife while protecting your fingers as well. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steels, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge and makes it the ideal choice for a skinning knife.
Each knife in this collection is individually handmade with the same dedication to detail, and with all-natural materials. This means that each knife will vary slightly in its exact color, shape, and pattern, so you can rest assured that absolutely no two knives - even of the same model - will ever look identical or mass-produced.
