The deep black ceramic bezel of the Element is made of zirconium oxide, a high-tech ceramic material that is approximately seven times harder and two-thirds lighter than steel. The extraordinary hardness makes this bezel virtually scratch proof. The case also features a patented suspension system that protects the Valjoux movement from heavy impacts.
