J.H. Patterson Damascus Steel Pocket Knife
Product Description
Lieutenant-Colonel John Henry Patterson was a British soldier, author, and hunter. His best-known book "The Man-Eaters of Tsavo" details his experiences while building a bridge over the Tsavo river in East Africa. This book inspired the Hollywood film The Ghost and the Darkness. Immediately after Patterson's arrival in Africa, lion attacks began to take place. The locals were very superstitious and refused to work on the railway. Worrying that the railroad would not be finished, Patterson went after the rogue lions himself. After months of hunting the man-eating lions, Patterson was able to track and kill the first lion on December 9, 1898. Two weeks later he was able to kill the second lion, narrowly escaping his own death when the wounded lion charged him. Each lion was over nine feet long and required at least eight men to carry it to the camp. The locals thought of Patterson as a hero and presented him with a silver bowl in gratitude.
J.H. Patterson lived such an amazing life and it is an honor to name this Damascus steel pocket knife after him. This Damascus steel folding knife is the perfect everyday carry pocket knife for the modern gentleman. From its thumb opening design and liner lock to the handmade leather sheath, this knife is meant to be used. The Tali Wood scales feel great in your hand and look great when paired with the stainless steel bolster. An intricate design along the spine finishes off this amazing knife.
