In June of 1942, the United States Navy demonstrated the overwhelming power that can be achieved through the combination of exceptional intelligence gathering, planning, and military execution. Only six months after the horrific attack on Pearl Harbor, the US Navy dealt a devastating blow to the Japanese navy when they subverted a Japanese attack through pre-emptive action. The "Midway" commemorates these men's courage and triumph in the turmoil that surrounded the initial days of the war in the Pacific. On Eastern white pine wood, it's an unusual print material that's utterly unique and totally masculine.
