Product Description
This luxury chronograph features a case crafted of forged carbon, a material Audemars Piguet has experimented with and perfected for use in fine watchmaking since the 1980s. The hexagon-shaped bezel is secured by eight highly polished screws. Under the glare-proof, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is a black ceramic face featuring a black “waffled” guilloche pattern. Bold Arabic numerals, the inner tachymeter scale bezel and the seconds hand are a vivid yellow color, giving the watch its sporty, “bumble-bee” appearance. The hour and minute hands are silvered with luminous insets.
Chronograph functions include a 30-minute counter at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock position and a small seconds dial at the 12 o'clock position. At the 3 o'clock position is a magnified date window. The case is secured to your wrist by a handsome strap made of black crocodile leather and yellow stitching. The forged carbon case is not only extremely durable and lightweight – each case is truly one of a kind. When the carbon fibers are poured into the mold, the fibers disperse in a random manner. Furthermore, when the material is heated and compressed, the carbon evolves in an unpredictable manner, resulting in a marbled effect that is highly prized.
