In 1777, Abraham-Louis Perrelet, (Swiss inventor), completed his revolutionary invention: the automatic self-winding movement. To this day, no one has found a better way of animating mechanical calibres, and the Perrelet Moon Phase Automatic is a testament to that technological tradition.
