The strontium illuminate in the ring inlay will naturally charge with sunlight or you can charge it quickly with a UV flashlight. The length of the glow depends on how long it has charged. We've had rings glow for up to 5 - 7 mins with a 10 second UV flashlight charge.
How does it glow?There is a material in the ring inlay called strontium aluminate, that when is exposed to light, reacts and causes the glow. To create the glow, you just need to charge the inlay with natural sunlight but a UV flashlight works best. Holding a UV flashlight to the ring for 5-7 seconds causes a long-lasting glow. This can be done with a regular flashlight but takes much longer.
Does it need to be under a black light to glow?It doesn't need to be a UV light but that works best. Natural sunlight is
good too. You can charge it with a regular lamp or flashlight but it takes
much longer.
