In 2005, Enrico Martellozzo—a great lover of Tuscany—bought an estate in the Montalcino area and called it Belpoggio. It is a winery with an extraordinary panorama of the Val D'Orcia, located in the south-east of Montalcino, an exceptional location considered one of the best for the cultivation of Sangiovese. On its 10-hectare estate, five are dedicated to Sangiovese and the other five to an ancient olive grove.

Vibrant, fruity, and with a touch of spice on the nose. The palate of the 2015 Belpoggio Brunello di Montalcino is elegant, the tannins are sweet, and the acidity is delicately tickling. A transparent pale garnet color with an earthy forest and cherry nose with a much bigger body than the color indicates. This 100% Sangiovese Grosso from Montalcino brings lots of ripe dark cherries to the palate, and makes a great accompaniment to red meat, game, heavy sauces and aged cheese.

Brunello di Montalcino is considered among the most famous Italian wines in the world, a great red of character; traditional and elegant. The 2015 vintage has been recognized as one of the best vintages ever in Italy, creating drop-dead gorgeous wines.
