Dynasty Forge
Daimyo Forge-Folded Katana
Product Description
From Dynasty Forge's flagship line, this Daimyo Forge-Folded Katana blade is hand-forged from a mixture of 1095, 1085, and 1060 high carbon steel, which is then forge-folded and clay-tempered to produce an exquisite Hamon and Hada— the aesthetic hallmarks of the Japanese sword. The Daimyo line is meticulously hand polished over Japanese stones to produce a razor edge and an unmatched finish. The fittings of the sword are based on an antique Tsuba currently in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts collection.

FAQ
Our Musha line is forged from 1060 and machine polished. It is mono-tempered. The blade does not have a Hamon (temper line) or Hada (forge folding pattern similar to Damascus).
The Bushi line is clay tempered and exhibits a hardened edge with a soft spine. When forged from our tri-steel, it will exhibit Hada as well. The blade is given a hybrid polish, with all rough work done by machine and final polish by hand.
The Daimyo line is clay tempered and exhibits a Hada and Hamon. The blades are further entirely hand-polished on Japanese stones to truly reveal the intricacies in the blade as well as provide a showpiece shine. In the case of our Tamahagane blades, the steel used is smelted by us using traditional methods.
