Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008) was a French fashion designer, widely regarded as one of the most important of the 20th century. Known for rekindling couture after its near-demise in the 60s, he was able to adapt his style to accommodate the changes in fashion during that period. He approached fashion in a different perspective by wanting those wearing his clothes to look comfortable, but elegant at the same time.
