The Gosling Bros. first set up a shop nearly two centuries ago on Front Street in the new capital of Hamilton on the small tropical island of Bermuda. There, they began formulating a distinctive black rum that would become synonymous with the island. This iconic spirit wasn't called Black Seal at first—the rum wouldn't earn that name until 1914 when they began bottling their rum in reclaimed champagne bottles sealed with black wax. Pretty soon people began to ask for the “Black Seal” and the rest, as they say, was history.

Goslings Family Reserve Old Rum is a super-premium, aged Old Rum crafted from the same blend of ingredients in the flagship Black Seal Rum. The Family Reserve is aged longer in oak to create an incomparable richness and complexity, ideal for sipping.

Tasting Notes: Leather, chocolate, and a hint of pepper on the nose. Smooth and elegant with traces of smoke, vanilla, and cigar box. The finish is long and spicy.

Tasting Notes: Intense butterscotch aroma with floral hints and traces of vanilla. Initial sweetness leads to complex caramel flavors and layers of spice. Like a youthful single malt, you can enjoy this rum neat, on the rocks, as a shot, or use it to elevate any cocktail mixed with juices or soda.
