Established in 1798, Tobermory Distillery (initially known as Ledaig Distillery), is the only distillery on the Isle of Mull and is one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. It is unique, not just because of its idyllic location, but because it produces two different, but equally alluring, single malts: the robust, smoky Ledaig and the fruity, unpeated Tobermory. The use of uniquely shaped stills, access to some of the purest water in the world, and their careful cask selection makes their spirits both distinctive and noteworthy. Centuries have passed, but their uncompromising tradition, dedication, and devotion remain.

The 42 Year Cask Strength Single Malt is the rarest and oldest single malt Scotch whisky produced at Tobermory. It's intense and layered with richly complex aromas of roasted chestnuts, stewed prunes, tobacco, sherry, and licorice. Its perfumed nose gives way to vivid flavors of coffee, bitter dark chocolate, cherry liqueur, powerful oak and spicy dried black fruits.

Tasting Notes
— Nose: Massive waves of dark chocolate, tobacco, Sherry-soaked raisins and roasted chestnuts. A touch of liquorice root.
— Palate: More roasted chestnut, now with notes of oily walnut and dry oak. Cherry, redcurrant, thick treacle and a touch of cracked black pepper.
— Finish: Dry spices last ages on the finish, with chocolate-covered raisins bringing a balancing sweetness.
