The Black CrossHelmet X1 is a next generation, app-connected motorcycle helmet with heads up display, rearview camera, sound control, and a host of smart features that will transform your riding experience. CrossHelmet seamlessly connects to your smartphone wirelessly so you can make calls, play music, and set the navigation destination without taking out your phone.

Rear-view mirrors on motorcycles are small and ineffective, but with this state of the art helmet, you can maintain awareness of your surroundings for a safer ride. The CrossHelmet’s dual-monitor HUD system is positioned above the eyes to stream wide-angle live feed from the rear. The visor area is wider than traditional motorcycle helmets so that this 170° rear-view camera can combine with your peripheral vision to give you 360° of situational awareness. This bifocal display projects a crisp and clear image in even the worst lighting conditions.

Overlayed on the video, CrossHelmet incorporates riding information like navigation, time, weather, direction, battery life, and more. Simply connect to the free dedicated CrossHelmet App to use waypoint navigation through Google Maps, as well as CrossHelmet's Group Talk feature. Group talk allows multiple riders with this application to talk naturally while riding using VoIP technology. Music, of course, can also be played through the CrossHelmet right from your phone.

The left ear-piece in the helmet is equipped with a discreet touchpad that works with any capacitive touch gloves for quick and safe adjustments while on the road. Swipe up and down for volume changes, forward and backwards for music seeking, and tap to pick up phone calls, pause/play music.

The addition of a CrossSound equalizer on the CrossHelmet App safely dampens noise to help reduce rider fatigue and prevent hearing damage. Using the 4 dedicated microphones in the helmet and sliders on the app, you can dampen noise based on frequency range. Reduce engine noise by dampening the lower frequencies, or target mid-high frequencies to cancel out wind noise.

The CrossHelmet battery is 100% safe and designed to pass all safety certification tests. This large capacity battery provides 4-6 hours of use per charge, and is 100% resistant to leakage, smoke, fire, or explosions after physical impact, puncture, or thermal damage. FAQ
Any issues with dark visor sight during night operation use? Is visor legal for night use in the USA?

We do not recommend using the dark visor at night.
Depending on which state you are in, the dark visor should be legal for use, but not recommended. Each CrossHelmet comes with a clear visor.

What about safety requirements?

The CrossHelmet has DOT certification for street use in the US and Canada.

How much does it weigh?

The CrossHelmet weighs 1920 grams or 67.7 oz.

Can you buy an extra battery to replace the used one if riding more than 6 hours?

No, the batteries in the CrossHelmet are not replaceable.

Is there cloud or chip trip storage capabilities for the camera and audio? If so or not is it expandable or service fee? To what extent is/are the cloud or memory chip memory accessible?

This is not a feature at this point in time. We will be adding trip recording in the future, but footage from the rear camera is stream-only.

Where is this made?

The CrossHelmet is manufactured in Japan and Taiwan.

Is there a mode to flip or mirror the rearview camera feed so you don’t view everything backwards?

The rear-view camera does not project the image backward. It offers 360° vision, completely eliminating blind spots, and also showcases essential information on the HUD.

Does the helmet has night vision?

The CrossHelmet’s bifocal display projects a crisp and clear image in even the worst lighting conditions.

What is the life expectancy of the battery?

The battery life expectancy depends on usage, i.e. how often and how long the customer uses the helmet.
Batteries should be operational for at least 2 years.

Aside from circumference, is the helmet sized for head shape (round, long oval, etc.) at all?

The CrossHelmet fits mostly universal; however if you consider yourself to have a round-shaped head (a flat head with a short front and back), the CrossHelmet may feel tight. Please consider going one size up.
