Product Description

ACT I is a tribute to the best harvest years of craft producer J. de Telmont from the mid to late 80's.

Some of COUP Champagne's first collections came from the independent craft house of J. de Telmont. Founded in 1912 with the family motto of "Glory to champagne," four generations would go on to write the history of the brand through a completely hands on process that continues through to the present. Their harvest by hand ensures delicate precision. The art of tiré-bouché liège, or aging on natural cork, is carried on. The wine-making and aging take places in foudres (large oak vats), and riddling is still done by hand. Their family proudly perpetuates their traditions with passion and an ongoing search for excellence, better Champagnes, and an expression of their history.

These rare vintages are still aging in their original French champagne cellars, meticulously stored and untouched for the last 30 years. With longer aging on the lees, champagne has more time to develop complex aromas, as well as finer bubbles.

As a ToMo Exclusive and a first of its kind service, COUP Champagne will coordinate with the winemaker to disgorge your bottles after your order is placed, ensuring the longest aging on lees of any bottle in that particular vintage year. The collector bottles are then air shipped with a brief stop at their temperature controlled warehouse before arriving at your door, resulting is a champagne with a superior aroma and flavor.
