Founded by actor Stephen Amell (ARROW) and Andrew Harding (MTV), Nocking Point Wines creates its collections with tastemakers and celebrities who love wine, such as Jason Momoa, Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, and Aisha Tyler. Renowned for its artistic collaborations, Nocking Point always blends an entertaining story behind each wine’s journey.

The idea for the winery first began in May of 2012 when Stephen and Andrew embarked on a road trip from LA to Oakland to watch a Blue Jays game for Stephen’s birthday. Three hours into the trip Andrew, who had grown up in wine country, easily convinced Stephen – who had never been to a wine region before – to make a quick stop in Paso Robles to taste some wine. Fast forward 5 years and this little wine venture has allowed the founders to connect with hundreds of thousands of fans and wine drinkers to cultivate a crazy-loyal wine club community that they are more than proud of. The two guys honestly didn’t know if anyone would care about a TV superhero and his good buddy making great wines out of a smaller wine region in the Northwest. Well, it turns out they do and for that they couldn’t be more proud or more appreciative of everyone who has supported them from day one.

The 2014 NP Origins Pinot Noir is the second vintage of “Origins”, Nocking Point's annual homage to the people and places from their past who helped them become who they are today. This vintage is a great mix of red fruit flavors intermingling with earthy, rustic notes. It’s a classic Willamette Valley style, balanced and easy-drinking by nature. This one is particularly special to Stephen, as the image on the label shows his grandparents together in one of their favorite places, on Lake Simcoe, in 1954.

The Willamette Valley in Oregon houses the perfect combination of soil and climate to produce Pinot Noir wines that rival the best of California and even Burgundy. With dry summers that are less hot than those of California, and the tendency to pick a little earlier, the region is producing wines of balance, that mimic an old world earthiness while maintaining nuances that keep the region markedly different from any other.
