Connie Lim

Connie Lim is a fashion illustrator and designer who started illustration back in 2006 in the early days of her time at Art Center Pasadena, where she fell in love with a fashion illustration class. It was through Lim’s fascination of fashion, and through the class that she started the Fashion Playing Cards project.

In working on the series, Lim found an outlet to both express and evoke emotions through her drawings, which had up to then seemed little more than the sum of individual lines on a page. Completing the cards had become an apt parallel for Lim’s journey as an illustrator: the changing drawings encapsulate how her technique and perspective have evolved.
