The saber is a very novel way to open champagne bottles. It was a tradition of the Napoleonic age, and the saber was used by soldiers to celebrate war victories. The “sabrage” blade doesn’t need to be sharpened because it has to hit the glass of the bottle. The Saladini’s sabrage saber is a fine homage to this tradition thanks to the handcrafted work and the priceless engravings on the steel heads.
