A delicate looking herb with a penetrating fragrance, thyme is both fresh and robust when plucked straight off the plant. It can also be left to dry once it's been picked, retaining big flavor for everyday cooking (no matter the season). Used as a medicinal herb, thyme tea helps against coughs, bronchitis and chest congestion. They also say smelling thyme can be a cure for melancholy, but we'll let you be the judge of that... Thyme takes one to two weeks to germinate and it can live for up to 16 months—longer than most herbs. The plant can tolerate very dry indoor air and can be continuously used over several months.
