Fantom Doorstop (Clear)
Product Description
The Fantom Stop was created to solve two issues: the fact that most standard door stops are tripping hazards, and well, just plain ugly.
Unlike conventional door stops, the Fantom Stop remains completely out of sight until the moment you need it. It utilizes a sleek, non-protruding pin that sits flush with your floor along with a magnetic striker plate that fits discreetly under most doors.
When you open the door, the concealed rare-earth magnet on the door's striker plate comes in contact with the pin, and draws it out of the floor. This creates a secure magnetic connection that safely holds your door open as long as you need. Once you are ready to close the door, simply pull the door handle towards you to release the pin from the striker plate and drop it back into the floor sleeve.
Sleek and simple, this highly functional, fully hidden door stop system is built to work with virtually any door, whether commercial or residential.

FAQ
You will need to drill a 14mm hole, about 2" into the floor to insert the sleeve and pin. The sleeve will need to be secured with silicone. Once dry, you can then drop the pin into the sleeve.
Does it work with carpet floors? In short pile carpet, absolutely. It is suited to short pile carpet as you can push the sleeve down into the sub-floor to get good bearing without going too deep into the carpet pile.
Long/deep pile carpet is harder and not advised due to the gap created between the door and the sleeve. When installing into the carpet, you need to punch or cut away the area of carpet you are about to drill to remove the carpet pile. If you don't, the carpet will wrap around your drill bit and will cause a run in your flooring. If you don't have a carpet punch, you can use a Stanley knife or small chisel.
How do you align the pin in the floor with the dimple in the door plate? You will need to install the floor sleeve first. Once the floor sleeve has been installed, pass the door over the pin, then mark on the door with a pencil where the center of the pin passes under the door. You will then need to take the door off the hinges and continue the pencil marking from the side of the door to underneath where you will need to drill the hole.
Will it work on a barn door system? This particular model will not work for a barn door system.
Is the pin at risk of getting sucked out of the sleeve when using a vacuum cleaner over it?We have tested this and no, we did not find the pin to come out of the sleeve when vacuuming over the doorstop.
