1928 Redeemable In Gold B $ 5 Federal Reserve Cleveland Pmg 63 Epq # 239

Being offered today is a VERY RARE “REEEMABLE IN GOLD” example of a
1928 B $5.00 Federal Reserve series note graded by PMG in 63 Choice Uncirculated with EXCEPTIONAL PAPER QUALITY (EPQ).

This note is from the “Cleveland” Series which is designated by the “D” on the left side of the note. The “D” series is from the Cleveland, Ohio Federal Reserve Bank (see pics). This note was among the first notes printed which is identified by the D – A block.

The upper left of the note states:

“REDEEMABLE IN GOLD ON DEMAND AT THE US TREASURY OR IN GOLD OR LAWFUL MONEY AT ANY FEDERAL RESERVE BANK”. So, at the time you could cash the note in for $ 5 in gold. Just imagine what that would be worth today if you received a mega rare $ 5 gold piece. Pretty cool.

The color just pops off the note. The margins are centered very well, and the ink just pops off the note.  The colors are bright and bold. The vibrant colors and well-preserved paper add to its visual eye appeal.
