Being offered today RARE FANCY SERIAL NUMBER $ 1 Dollar 1899 BLACK EAGLE Silver Certificate note. This note is also a very HIGH GRADE note in Gem Uncirculated condition.

This note also has a “Fancy Serial Number”, the serial number is B70000782B. It has “700007”, which is what makes this a fancy serial number, and this is very rare. It also features the Napier - Mc Clung signatures, which are a little harder to find.

The red and blue fibers throughout the note are strong and bold. All of the lines are sharp and crisp. This really is a fantastic note for any collector or investor.

The back of the note states:

THIS CERTIFICATE IS RECEIVABLE FOR CUSTOMS, TAXES, AND ALL PUBLIC DUES, AND WHEN RECEIVED MAY BE REISSUED.

So, back in 1899 you could pay your Customs duties when importing goods and pay your income taxes as well. Then it could be reissued back in to circulation by the government again. This is the only U.S. Currency that has this printed on it.

This note has the date of 1899 to “the right side of the note”. If you look to the right side of the blue seal, you will see that the date is on the side of the note. That is why this note is called “Date Right”. The more common notes have the date under the serial number know as “Date Under”
