Product Description
Play in style with this polished chess set. Each piece is made from cast iron — a hard and relatively brittle alloy of iron and carbon that is readily cast in a mold and contains a high proportion of carbon. The board is made from 100% genuine leather, making this set more than a functional game board, but a beautiful display piece in your home.
Currently operating in its fourth generation, each handmade sculpture is constructed in Carl's sculpting studio in Vienna.

About the Designer
Carl Auboeck's design studio is located in the bernardgasse, in the seventh District of Vienna. Starting in the 19th Century, Viennese bronzes were the original materials and techniques used when the company was first founded. With generational changes, the workshop has received new impetus, deriving from Carl Auboeck II's studies at the Weimar Bauhaus - the true beginning of the characteristic Auboeck design.
