Where is this knife manufactured?

The knife is assembled in China.

How often will I have to sharpen the blade?

The simple answer is as often as you want. The VG10 steel will hold an edge much longer than steels such as 440, 420, AUS8, etc, but that really depends on what you are cutting. Certain materials will put more wear and tear on an edge than others, insulation, certain types of cardboard, can take an edge down fairly quickly. We suggest having a carbide/ceramic pocket sharpener handy, such as the Camillus Glide to keep the blade honed in between small jobs. If you need to fully restore the edge a diamond stone is your best bet. We recommend DMT diamond stones.
