1961 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball
Product Description
The New York Yankees are the most successful baseball franchise in history, winning 27 World Series titles in their 115 year history. There have been many legendary squads, but the most dominant of all was the 1961 team, led by Mickey Mantle, which won an outstanding 109 games and lost just 53. This important 1961 team-signed ball has 22 signatures, including Hall of Famers Mantle (died 1995) and Yogi Berra (died 2015).
In addition, the official American League baseball has been signed by these 1961 Yankee greats : Tom Tresh (died 2008), Johnny Blanchard (d. 2009), Clete Boyer (d. 2007), Hal Reniff (an elusive signature, died 2004), Moose Skowron (d. 2012), Ryne Duren (d. 2011), Bill Stafford (rare; d. 2001), Jim Coates, Rollie Sheldon, Art Ditmar, Billy Gardner, Jack Reed, Bud Daley, Ralph Terry, Hector Lopez, Al Downing, Bob Cerv, and Bobby Richardson.
Shortstop Tony Kubek and manager Ralph Houk (d.2010) can also be found on the side panels, two elusive signatures rarely seen on these baseballs. The Mick has added his "No.7" to his signature, which appropriately stands by itself on the sweet spot.
