Angel’s Envy is a handcrafted, small batch whiskey produced by Louisville Distilling Company. Inspired by legendary Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson’s lifetime spent crafting fine spirits, their hand-finished whiskeys are true masterpieces rooted in 200+ years of bourbon heritage. Lincoln came out of retirement to collaborate with his son, Wes, on an idea he had for years—a bourbon finished in Port barrels. Wes’s son Kyle eventually joined his family to help with the fledgling brand, and to learn side by side with his grandfather. The 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the “Angel’s Share.” After tasting the finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that they had finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so Angel’s Envy was born.

Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon is finished in port wine casks for an award-winning spirit. Their team guides each batch’s conditioning, blending their handcrafted bourbon in small batches of 8 to 12 barrels at a time. It’s typically aged for up to 6 years. Once it’s deemed ready, they finish the bourbon in ruby port wine casks to impart subtle yet distinct flavor nuances that enhance the whiskey without challenging it. Their port finishing process lasts between three to six months, depending on taste. They use 60-gallon ruby port barrels made from French oak and imported directly from Portugal. This creates a whiskey of unprecedented smoothness, sweetness and balance.

Tasting Notes
A gold color laced with reddish amber hues, nearly copper in tone. On the nose, you'll detect notes of subtle vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. The palate reveals vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast and bitter chocolate, culminating in a clean finish and lingering sweetness with a hint of Madeira that slowly fades.
