It all began in 1791 at a secret ceremony, where Dutty Boukman swore an oath to liberty, sealed it with rum, and sparked the revolution that freed Haïti. Two centuries later, Boukman honors Haïti’s rich tradition of clairin trempè with Boukman Botanical Rhum—fresh cane juice rhum infused with barks, citrus peel, and botanicals.

Boukman Botanical Rhum is derived from two of Haiti’s best rhum terroirs: the rich canefields of Croix des Bouquets in the south and the northern cane fields around Cap Haïtien, the scene of Dutty Boukman’s rebellion. They use only the best rhum agricole and infuse it with botanicals and barks, many of them native to Haïti and foraged in the wild. The result is a dry, intense, and complex spirit with an elegant finish.

This beautiful rum offers aromas of citrus, earth, cinnamon, honey, and baked pear. On the palate, it opens with a beautiful spice, almost like jerk spice; followed by wood, chocolate, fruit, molasses, and key-lime pie. It finishes long and slightly medicinal with spice. Boukman Rhum can be enjoyed neat with an orange twist, on the rocks, in an Old Fashioned, or in a classic daiquiri.

Boukman Rhum is 100% distilled and bottled in Haiti by two local, family-owned companies. In the spirit of Dutty Boukman, they reinvest 10% of profits to education through Haiti Futur, a Haitian-led non-profit with branches in five countries. They also work with the Solidaridad.org non-profit to improve farmers' cane yields organically.
