Klaus Botta developed the Uno one-hand watch in line with this philosophy back in 1986 – and as such this is regarded as the original modern one-hand watch.

One-hand watches make do with merely an hour hand. Even at first glance, this reduced approach to displaying the time gives an approximate idea of the time.
