Inspired by origami and crafted from wool-cashmere blended fabric, Bloom Blanket not only keeps you warm but also looks great on top of your sofa or bed. This tessellated beauty has been made from the most amazing materials, so snuggling underneath it is a sublime pleasure. The blanket is made of a hand-picked Italian cashmere and wool blend fabric, a blend created specifically for the subtleties of this design and woven in Prato, Italy. Each Bloom Blanket is constructed from 180 triangles, resulting in over five hours of cutting and sewing time per bespoke blanket. A Bloom Blanket is soft, cozy and warm, enveloping you with its continuous geometry.

Bianca Cheng Costanzo

Bianca was born in São Paulo into a Chinese immigrant community. At a young age, she moved to Rome, her father’s home, and then to California, where she spent most of her childhood. After studying at MIT, Bianca began working as an interaction designer and software engineer at Apple. Today, she lives in Malmö, Sweden.

A few years ago, Bianca was in a near-fatal bike accident. She fell into a coma and her memory loss was extreme. Regaining knowledge of things large and small provided a moment of profound exploration and rediscovery. Bianca relearned to walk. Relearned complex programming paradigms. And soon found herself recreating origami art she made with her mother as a child. These folds gradually became more intricate, more mathematically inclined, and more inspired by the tessellations of Ron Resch – overlapping, connecting, twisting together, and repeating. From here, Bloom Blanket was born.
