Finnish Reindeer Hide // Light
Product Description
This beautiful reindeer hide is soft and chic; these pieces are sourced from the sustainable herds of the indigenous Lappish and Sami tribes of Finland. This hide is an eco-friendly bi-product of indigenous farming. Please note that a reindeer's hair is not as robust as that of the Icelandic sheep. They should not be used in high traffic areas or outdoors as this will cause them to shed hair over time.
No animals were harmed for these beautiful throws—each pelt is harvested from the meat industry and would have been discarded otherwised.

About the Designer

Bryce Gracey is the founder of Black Sheep (White Light)—a brand that specializes in eco-friendly pelts and throws. Gracey was an architect in Canada who was searching for the perfect interior design piece when he discovered the pelts of the Icelandic sheep and knew he needed to share that beauty with the rest of the world.
All sheepskins sold by BS (WL) are bi-products of primary usage from indigenous Icelandic and native farming; this helps reduce the waste associated with this production. Furthermore, each sheepskin is stamped 'eco-friendly' as the tanning process abides by strict EU & EPA directives concerning environmental preservation and human health.
