The Bionic Bird uses Bluetooth for controls. As long as your device has Bluetooth and can download the app, you will be able to control it via the app.

How much control do you have over the speed and direction of the bird?

Flying the Bionic Bird, you have perfect control of the direction. Regarding the speed, it depends: you will have to set it at the beginning of the flight by positioning the tail of the bird.
