This innovative young artist creates each image as an original painting using classical, hand drafting techniques to apply paint to various materials. He then has his original paintings professionally scanned to capture high-resolution images. Using photo-manipulation software and various aesthetic judgments, Holiday creates the final "print image" from the scan. Once the print image is finalized, it is uploaded to a large format printer which releases ink onto canvas or acrylic. The process allows for nearly identical reproductions and developed as a response to the artist's desire to make his work more accessible, without losing a single detail. About the Designer
Ben Holiday is a Chicago-based artist drawing inspiration from his background in architecture. His early pieces focused on patterns, stencils, and abstracts. His work in luxury residential design, commercial architecture, and travel throughout Europe inspired increasingly complex paintings. Ben's subjects have included architectural elements, landmarks, and skylines painted onto silk, leather, canvas, wood, and acrylic panels in vibrant hues and metallic finishes.
