2013 BV Reserve Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford -1 Bottle
This very limited bottling of 2013 Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates the unique characteristics of this single, outstanding clone during an extraordinary vintage. The powerful dark-fruit aromas and classic Cabernet flavors of black currant, blackberry, and dark plum intertwine into a nearly deep fruit compote style with savory notes of black olive, black licorice, espresso, sweet anise spice, and toasty vanilla oak. The mouth-pleasing tannins are present, lush and smooth, guaranteed to broaden as the wine ages, but are incredibly focused and linear when enjoying the wine in its youth. This wine is opulent, concentrated and pronounced, exhibiting a muscular strength and intensity while being incredibly balanced. While enjoyable now, this wine will continue to develop complexity in the bottle.

2013 BV Reserve Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford - 1 Bottle
This very limited bottling of 2013 Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates the unique characteristics of wine made from vines planted to this single, outstanding clone during an extraordinary vintage. Deep-ruby hued, this Cabernet Sauvignon’s lush aromas and generous, fruit-expressive flavors are filled with layers of juicy black cherry, cassis, and hints of plum, followed by baking spice notes of anise, clove, and subtle brambly or savage (hence the grape's name) herbal notes on the finish. The wine is fresh and vibrant, with beautiful balance and acidity, almost suggesting a cooler-climate source. The full, round and rich flavors (very “Rubenesque”) are structured by firm, yet supple, tannins and are nicely balanced with vanilla and oak spice from new French oak barrels. While enjoyable now, this wine will continue to develop complexity in the bottle for another decade or more when stored at ideal cellar temperatures.
