DStar Engines
Basic Stirling Engine
Product Description
Powered by an alcohol-burning lamp, this stunning Basic Stirling Engine is a classic illustration of converting heat energy into mechanical work using a thermodynamic cycle similar to the well-known Carnot cycle. The external combustion steam engine utilizes two pistons— a small power piston and a larger displacement piston that also stores heat energy— to create a beautiful visual display of thermodynamics in action. Meticulously tested for proper operation and efficiency, it's a fun and fascinating toy for hobbyists, as well as a serious demonstration model for work or classrooms.
