The idea for Bath Diamond began with a kayaking trip between friends to a renowned bioluminescent bay. As they paddled and night fell, they began to see ripples of light along the sides of their kayaks. Soon, the natural bio-light was glowing all around their paddles and the friends were left in awe of the luminous path in the water. It was magic. After returning home, they went straight to work researching the ocean’s bioluminescence and how they could share their experience with others.

They found that up until now, the Nobel Prize winning science behind natural bioluminescence was primarily used in medical technology. They worked with labs for years to create their luminous, ocean-derived technology so that everyone can share this bioluminescent experience from the comfort of their home.

Marine creatures’ bioluminescent glow is produced through the oxidation of a natural molecule called Luciferin by an enzyme called Luciferase. Their scientists used the genetic information to make a lab-synthesized protein that creates the same stunning natural glow. Is the product safe to use on a jacuzzi tub?

While Bath Diamond does not contain confetti or other debris that are most harmful for hot tubs, it does contain a high percentage of natural essential oils, and when left uncleaned after use, the oil could build up and may cause issues with your hot tub.

We recommend you check with your hot tub manufacture as well to see if your hot tub is suitable for using bath bombs.
