As a marketing and tech entrepreneur, Joe Beatrice knew how to build a business from the ground up. As a home brewer, he knew how to build upon the layers of flavor that result in the perfect bourbon. So it came as no surprise when - in 2013 - he created the ultimate mash-up, combining his branding skills with his blending skills to create exceptional cask whiskey. Almost a decade later, Barrell Craft Spirits is renowned for its cask-strength small-batch and single-barrel releases, picking up multiple awards from the world’s most prestigious spirits competitions. Seagrass is an ode to coastal memories, blended to evoke the joy of a day on the beach and an evening listening to the soothing rhythm of waves. Hot sun, brisk air, dry sand, and oceanside vegetation are brought to mind. A ripe and inviting tropical nose and grassy, bright body evolve to a finish as long as the view down the shore on a clear day.

Armida began as an experiment, trying to make a dream whiskey come to fruition: What flavors and aromas were they most excited to find in bourbon? Where in the world of spirits do those flavors exist? Could they finish and blend whiskeys to tease the subtle flavors from the edges of perception into the forefront? More than a year later they found themselves with a whiskey with subtle hints of spice and orchard fruit they chase in bourbons amplified into balance and power never found before.

Dovetail is blended to highlight some favorite flavors. Woody bourbon; terroir driven Dunn Cabernet; toasted French oak; Late Bottled Vintage Port pipes; black strap molasses casks; all working in tandem to create a buttery and deep whiskey as unique as it is delicious. Dovetail took almost a year to get right, from blending to labeling, all coming together in a seemingly perfect point.

Dovetail is primarily 10 year old whiskey and 11 year old bourbon but some younger whiskeys are used.
Seagrass is 4-7 year old Indiana Rye and 10-16 year old Canadian rye.
