The Meteorite Pen // Fountain Pen
Product Description
The METEORITE Pen is a timeless addition to any modern gentleman’s writing collection. It has been designed by B. Smith & Co. to elegantly highlight the cosmic beauty of one of the most remarkable, oldest, and rarest objects found on earth: the Campo del Cielo meteorite.
The Campo del Cielo meteorite was first discovered in 1576 in the Gran Chaco Gualamba region of Northern Argentina. It was found on an open, brush covered, waterless plain. The aboriginal inhabitants named the area Campo del Cielo, or Field of Heaven: for which the meteorite was named. Pieces of this meteorite were found scattered over a large area, and many impressive shards of the Campo del Cielo are currently on display in museums and personal collections all over the world.
B. Smith & Co. acquires their meteorite specimens from only the most reputable dealers, all who are longstanding members of the International Meteorite Collectors Association. Every pen will be accompanied by a beautifully engraved stainless steel certificate of authenticity card, guaranteeing the integrity of your purchase. Each pen will also be meticulously handcrafted-to-order with black titanium-plated brass hardware, featuring body and cap barrels encrusted with actual fragments of Campo del Cielo meteorite that had traveled across the cosmos, in space, for billions of years before it crashed to earth between 4,000 and 6,000 years ago.
This Fountain Pen version is carefully fitted with a fine point, two-tone stainless steel nib manufactured in Germany, and offers two methods of filling the ink supply– a disposable cartridge and a piston converter. As with most fountain pens, the nib can be easily replaced when worn out and the converter can be refilled unlimited times with your preferred ink.
Meteorite pens also come with an optional Moondust Upgrade. With this upgrade, your pen will be built using a proprietary blend of dust from the
Northwest Africa 5000 Lunar Meteorite. It was discovered in Southern Morocco in 2007 and is, to date, the largest and finest lunar specimen in existence. Lunar dust is also considered to be one of the rarest materials in the entire world, more so than gold, platinum, or even diamond.
