About the Designer

Paul Axelrod’s interest in design stems from the fact that furniture is something we interact with on a daily basis and typically don’t think twice about. His goal is to jumpstart this interaction with the combination of striking aesthetics and high function. By developing his take on minimal, time-honored, shapes and patterns as well as impeccable craftsmanship, Axelrod’s work is meant to last for generations. This, along with choosing sustainably harvested materials and earth-friendly finishes, makes his work thoroughly contemporary.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Oregon College of Art and Craft, Axelrod honed his craft for ten years in small furniture shops before striking off on his own in 2012. His products are for anyone who is drawn to the look and feel of hand-made objects, all are made to order in his studio in Portland, Oregon. He is currently creating a line of audio products and a myriad of other designs, as well as custom work on one-off pieces for individual clients.
